Hey crochet friends, I am so happy you're here! Today I'm so excited to share my newest pattern with you! This is a free amigurumi pattern to make our newest friend Wilbert.
Meet Wilbert the Mushroom Man. He's small but ready for whatever grand adventures this big world throws his way! This amigurumi pattern makes a six-inch tall plush when using worsted-weight yarn and a 3.75mm hook.
I actually came up with the design while watching Rings of Power on Prime while simultaneously playing a game where you play as a mushroom "person". I really wanted to come up with a plush that was identifiable as a mushroom, but also had the same vibes as the Harfoots- Harfeet? I also really wanted the clothes to be removable so that I could dress him up in different outfits if I wanted to. With all that, Wilbert was born and I started getting some ideas about some friends he could meet on his adventures (maybe some more patterns will come soon?).
With that, let's get to crafting our new friend!
~Feel free to make and sell these, but please do not mass produce! If you would like to share this pattern, please link to this page, but do not reprint it on your site. Assembly:
Attach the head to the top of the body, stuffing as you sew the opening shut so that the head will not flop around.
Place the mushroom top on top of the mushroom bottom(wrong sides together), the bottom will stick out a little further than the top, but that is on purpose and should help the brim of the hat curve upward slightly. Sew through the loops from the last row of each part, you may add a tiny bit of stuffing to the very top of the mushroom if you desire, but I choose not to, if you overstuff it it will not sit on the head very well.
After that, all that’s left is to dress your mushroom man and embroider the eyes if you are not using safety eyes!
And that’s all! Thank you so much for joining me on this crochet adventure!
